Professeur Jean-Christophe Iseux
H.E. Professor Jean-Christophe Iseux Baron von Pfetten is currently Director of the Research Institute of World Economy, People’s University of China (since 2006). He is well-known as having been the first and only Caucasian specially invited member of Chinese Parliament (Changchun CPPCC from 2001 to 2005). He is also known to facilitate attracting more than two percent of total FDI into China over the last five years achieved via his China advisory positions to more than 12 CEOs of Fortune 500 multinationals ie Siemens, BP, GM, General Dynamics, News Corp., Monsanto, L’Oreal, Alcatel, Heineken, Du Pont, ABB etc…
In China he is an honorary adviser to several governmental institutions such as 15 local governments (such as Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Chongqin, Nanjing, Shenzhen etc...), the Investment Research Institute of the NDRC, the National School of Administration, the Transnational Institute of the MOFCOM, the All-China Chamber of Commerce, the Society of Environmental Sciences, the China Investment Association and the National Economic Research Institute. He was recipient of the Lei Feng Award (1999) and made Global Leader of Tomorrow by the World Economic Forum in Davos Summit 2003.
Outside the PRC he is also Special Adviser to the French Study Committee on National Defense, Honorary Visiting Professor at the Assumption University of Thailand, China Adviser to the US Coalition of Services Industries as well as to the Malaysian government sponsored Asian Strategic and Leadership Institute.
Prior to his current positions, he was Adviser on Foreign Economic and Trade Cooperation to the CPC Central Committee (2005-2007), Professor of International Economics at the School of Economics of Renmin University (2000-2006), Visiting Professor to the International MBA class of Tsinghua University (1999-2000), Director of China Studies at the Oxford Policy Institute (1998-2005), Permanent Representative to the WTO and UNCD (1996-1997), Vice-president of Oxford Analytica (1994-1996) and Research Associate at the Oxford School of Management Studies (1992-1994). He received his MBA from Templeton College, Oxford in 1991 and his BSc, MSc, D.Eng degrees from the University of Strasbourg.
Le Professeur Iseux, qui parlera en français, est déjà venu au Cercle des Amitiés Internationales à deux reprises. Sa connaissance exceptionnelle de la Chine avait recueilli un vif intérêt. Nous ne doutons pas que cette troisième conférence en fera de même.
